I Training goals
Carry out the education policy of the party and the country, and in accordance with the requirements of education to be "oriented to modernization, facing the world, and facing the future", adhere to the principle of quality first, implement the principle of integrating theory with practice, and cultivate high-level professional talents with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence and physical fitness. The specific requirements are:
1. Master the basic principles of Marxism, adhere to the four basic principles, love the motherland, abide by the law, have good moral character, rigorous style of study, have the scientific spirit of seeking truth from facts, constantly pursuing new knowledge, and being brave to create, and actively serve socialist construction.
2. Master the solid and broad basic theories and systematic and in-depth expertise of this discipline. Have the ability to independently engage in scientific research and teaching, organize and solve theoretical or practical problems, and make creative achievements in science or specialized technology.
3. Master at least one foreign language, be able to read foreign language materials proficiently, and have the ability to write academic papers and conduct international academic exchanges.
4. Have a healthy body.

III Length of study and time allocation
1. The length of study for full-time doctoral students is generally three years.
2. The length of study for in-service doctoral students is generally four years.
3. For doctoral students who have reached the training goals in advance, have outstanding grades, and have made creative achievements, upon their own application, the supervisor's consent, and the college's approval, they will be submitted to the graduate school for approval, and they are allowed to respond in advance and apply for a degree; those who cannot complete their studies on time due to objective reasons, With the approval of the applicant, the supervisor's approval, the college's approval, and the graduate school's approval, the length of study can be extended appropriately. Those who have not filed an extension report or have not completed the defense of the doctoral thesis after the extension period expires will be treated as completion.
IV Courses and credit requirements
The course study of doctoral students implements the credit system. At least 16 credits should be obtained for the courses of doctoral graduate students, including no less than 12 credits for degree courses.
Doctoral degree examination courses should include:
1. Marxist theory class
Doctoral students offer the course "Modern Science and Technology Revolution and Marxism".
Class hours: 40 hours in class
Credits: 2 credits.
2. Foreign languages
The teaching of the first foreign language (English, Japanese, Russian, German, etc.) is divided into two parts: basic foreign language and professional foreign language.
The classroom teaching of basic foreign languages is arranged by the Graduate Training Office to be completed in the first semester, and the teaching and assessment of professional foreign languages are arranged by each training unit.
Class hours: 120 hours (90 hours for basic foreign language, 30 hours for professional foreign language).
Credits: 4 credits (3 credits for basic foreign language, 1 credit for professional foreign language).
3. Basic theory courses and professional courses. The minimum credits for the two types of courses are 6 credits, of which the basic theory courses are not less than 4 credits.
4. The second foreign language (English, Japanese, German, etc.) is an optional course, and students and tutors will decide whether to choose it according to their needs. Those whose first foreign language is not English must take English as a second foreign language as an elective.
V Degree course examinations
The degree courses of doctoral students (including political theory courses, first foreign language, professional basic courses and professional courses) are all examination courses, and the scores are assessed on a hundred-point system. For the assessment method, please refer to "Relevant Regulations of Jilin University on Doctoral Degree Examinations".
Doctoral students must pass the degree course examination within the prescribed time limit and obtain corresponding credits.
Five training methods
1. The cultivation of doctoral students is based on scientific research. The focus is to cultivate the ability to independently engage in scientific research, and to choose relevant courses according to the requirements of the training plan, the needs of the dissertation, and personal characteristics.
On the basis of broadening the foundation, deepening the profession, and mastering the frontiers, learn the methods of creative scientific research and cultivate a rigorous scientific style.
2. The cultivation of doctoral students implements the collective guidance method of supervisor responsibility system. For each student, an instructor-based guidance group should be established. The doctoral student guidance group can be nominated by the supervisor according to the research direction of the doctoral student and the content of the topic, and report to the Graduate Training Office for the record. The members of the steering group should generally be at least 2 academic echelon members (including tutors) with the title of associate professor or above, and interdisciplinary experts may also be invited to participate. At the same time, pay attention to the role of the department and teaching and research section in cultivating graduate students to create a good academic environment for doctoral students.
3. According to the requirements of the training program of the discipline, the tutor should guide the doctoral students to formulate a personal training plan within three months of the entrance of the doctoral students in combination with the foundation and expertise of the doctoral students. The training plan should make a detailed plan for the specific requirements and progress of the course study, the opening report, academic activities, scientific research, and thesis. The training plan should be archived online by the doctoral student's entry, and the original manuscript should be stored in the doctoral college for the record. The study of the doctoral program can be interspersed with the thesis work, but at the latest, all credits must be obtained before the paper is finalized.
4. Tutors should actively arrange and help graduate students to participate in academic exchanges at home and abroad, understand domestic and foreign academic trends, broaden scientific horizons, activate academic thinking, and master the frontiers of disciplines.
5. Tutors and steering groups should pay attention to the ideological and political education and moral quality education of doctoral students, care about the all-round growth of doctoral students, rigorously conduct academic studies, cultivate good professional ethics, a spirit of unity and cooperation, and a spirit of dedication and courage to teach. Educate people.
6. The college (center, institute) where doctoral students are located should strive to create a good academic environment for doctoral students.
All disciplines and majors should actively hold academic seminars or academic reports to create opportunities for doctoral students to learn and communicate.
VI the opening report
In order to ensure the quality of the dissertation, the instructor should determine the scope of each doctoral candidate's topic as soon as possible, and under the guidance of the supervisor, through reading literature and academic research, propose the scope of the thesis topic, and hold the doctoral thesis in the third semester Opening report meeting. The opening report should be organized by the training unit and the original materials of the opening report should be kept by each training unit until the students graduate for future reference.
Doctoral students should complete a certain amount of professional literature reading before opening the topic report. The specific requirements for the amount of literature reading and the specific proportion of foreign literature in the professional literature are determined by each college (center, institute) according to the characteristics of the discipline.
VII academic activities (phased results report)
It is required that doctoral students must participate in more than 4 academic reports or academic lectures held in the field or related disciplines (excluding the opening report) during their studies. After completing the thesis report, doctoral students shall hold at least one public report on the thesis stage results during the thesis work in conjunction with the thesis work. Complete the above links and get 2 compulsory credits. All colleges (centers, institutes) should actively create conditions for doctoral students to complete this link, carefully formulate assessment methods, and do a good job in assessment and record filing.
VIII Mid-term inspection of the paper
In the middle of the doctoral dissertation work, each training unit shall organize an inspection of the doctoral dissertation work, and perform the assessment according to the requirements of the "Ph. Centers, institutes), the Graduate School will organize random random checks. Those who fail the mid-term inspection will be given a yellow card for warning and follow-up inspection.
IX Dissertation
The basic requirements for the dissertation of doctoral students and the review and defense of the dissertation shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Interim Implementation Measures for Academic Degrees of the People's Republic of China" and "Interim Regulations for Degree Awarding of Jilin University".
